What you can expect from this role
The Mortgage Loan Officer –Builder Accounts is responsible for developing, managing, and growing strategic relationships with residential home builders and their sales teams to generate mortgage loan production. This role serves as the primary financing partner for builder communities, providing exceptional service to prospective homebuyers throughout the mortgage process from application through closing.
What will be expected of you
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with builder partners, on-site sales representatives, and community sales managers.
- Serve as the dedicated mortgage financing resource for assigned builder accounts and communities.
- Consult with homebuyers to assess financial needs and recommend appropriate loan products.
- Educate clients on available mortgage options, rates, terms, and closing costs.
- Guide borrowers through the loan application, documentation, underwriting, and closing processes.
- Maintain regular presence at builder model homes, sales offices, and community events as needed.
- Partner closely with processors, underwriters, and closing teams to ensure timely loan approvals and on-time closings.
- Monitor pipeline activity and proactively resolve issues that may impact builder deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, investor, and company lending regulations.
- Maintain knowledge of market trends, interest rates, and builder incentive programs.
- Meet or exceed monthly production, pull-through, and customer satisfaction goals.
What you will need to succeed
- Proven experience as a Mortgage Loan Officer with at least 50 % or more of loan production volume derived from a volume or track new home builder
- Ability to be accessible and responsive after hours and weekends as may be required to achieve goals
- Active NMLS license in applicable states
- Bilingual in Spanish language is a plus
- Strong knowledge of conventional, FHA, VA, and non-conforming mortgage products.
- Experience working directly with residential home builders and new construction sales teams preferred
- Excellent relationship-building, sales, and customer service skills
- Strong organizational and pipeline management abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- CRM and LOS system proficiency
